A Fate Worse than Home is the first and title track of my upcoming debut album. The first song is the beginning of a larger narrative of one’s journey through their own identity and ways of self expression. The whole thing is told through a science fiction story with spaceships, lasers and a small dash of cosmic horror (a bit of a cliché in Metal these days, but hey, I’m a sucker for sci-fi, so you know I had to). As I was writing this paragraph, I wanted to explain the entire concept, but I feel like that takes the fun out of the listening experience (especially since the entire album isn’t exactly out yet). All I’ll say is, take the lyrics and interpret them in any way that you like. The only context you’ll need is that in my ultra conservative, fascist country (that is ruled my a Malay-Muslim fascist party and their ultra-rich friends), it's really hard to be anything but a straight Malay-Muslim man. That concept in itself, fits right in with the theme of this compilation in my opinion.
